Until COVID-19 blows over, staying inside is a normal part of our daily lives. While you’re cooped up inside, why not get a head start on your summer-themed interior design plans? Interior Designer, Elizabeth Nimni recommends some simple interior design trends for Summer 2020.
Update Your Lighting Fixtures
Now’s the time to switch over to an eco-friendly LED lighting system. Soon, natural lighting will be all the rage. But until then, make use of lights that keep the environment in mind. For added vibrance, consider replacing a few of your light bulbs with colorful options. Great summer color options include coral pink, faded denim, mosaic blue and biscay green.
Stained Glass Windows
Before you know it, the sun will be shining! That means more natural light to brighten up your home. It also means that you can spice up your space with stained glass pieces for your windows! Now, if you’re no Michelangelo — don’t worry about it. Rather than replacing your entire window, roll up those sleeves and take a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) approach on a smaller scale. Creating small stained glass pieces to hang in front of your windows will offer even the blandest room a unique and personal touch.
Space-Saving Storage
No storage shed or basement space? No problem!
Your spring cleaning may already be taken care of. But there’s still room for decluttering! Consider stackable storage containers, shelves and cupboards that can be installed close to the ceiling. Plain white or natural wood will best set the tone for the season. But, of course, the choice is all yours!
Stay tuned for more 2020 interior design trend tips and tricks from interior designer, Elizabeth Nimni. And as always, remember to use these bits of advice as suggestions — not a checklist. True creativity in the interior design realm is all about personalization and personality. So be sure to add your own ideas into the mix!
